RE: fifth wheel that can be pulled by 1/2 ton pickup

There are a number of small 5th wheels out there that will not max your truck out. Here is one that is a good fit. It is by Sun Valley Inc. Their model XF-230SL Has a dry weight of 3802# and A GVWR of 6385# with a dry pin weight of 618#. This one even has a slide. It is a Surveyor by Forest River. It's GVWR is 7500# (700# below your max) and it's dry pin weight is 967#. And this one is 26'2".

RE: Looking for bath and a half with bunks floorplan.

Search for a - 2009 Forest River sandpiper - it is a bath and a half with bunks up front. There is a new one listed on eBay with great pictures and floor plan.

RE: Whats Your Real Weights? Truck and Trailer. The Real Deal

2003 Everest 363K 38'
2004 Dodge (stock) CC LB DRW Cummins Turbo Diesel Auto Trans 4.10
Hop on the scales evey now and then just to see how it's Going. Figure as long as I stay under the 23,000 lb combined weight I'm good to go. I usually top out at about 22,700 but am always a little over if I have a couple extra of passangers and their stuff.

RE: Whats Your Real Weights? Truck and Trailer. The Real Deal

Well my truck maxes out at 11.5K and my 5er maxes out at 14.2K and I'm allowed 26K combined so I must be OK, right?

RE: Air Conditioner

Last year I also went to a Camping World store in Myrtle Beach, SC to see about having a second A/C installed because they had a really good sale on them. I told them that my 5er was pre-wired for a second A/C. When I went to get it installed they told me there was no wires available for the unit and wanted to charge me extra for the wiring. I called my dealer and asked him why my unit's paperwork said it was pre-wired for a second A/C when in fact it was not. Bottom Line: It is pre-wired and the Camping World people were not smart enough to find it or were just working me over for a little extra money. In any event they did not get my business.
